Said Shaykh Anwar al Awlaki rohimahullahu in his treatise 44 How to Participate And Support Jihad :
Zakatmu pay the Mujahideen
Zakat distribution is restricted to eight categories ( eight asnaf ) : Verily charity is only for people Faqir , the poor , the amil ( board ) zakat , the Muslim convert who persuaded him , for freeing slaves , for people who pay off debt , to fi Sabilillah , and to ibn sabil ( person who in the course of ... ( Surah At Tauba 60 )
Sabilillah Fi , in the way of God , referring to the Mujahideen . The fuqoha Maliki as Abu Bakr ibn Al- Arabi stated : Imam Malik said , " fi Sabilillah has many meanings , but all agree , that the notion fi Sabilillah here is Jihad " .
Imam An Nawawi said in Al- Minhaj when talking about spending zakat : Mujahideen fi Sabilillah should be given a living to what he needs is also a living for his family as long as he goes for Jihad until he returned home . Although his departure takes an awful long time .
Nowadays not many people who pay zakat to the Mujahideen . But if only Muslims can avoid the vicious whisper cheat , they will realize that today is the main charity encashment to the Mujahideen .
Prophet once said : shodaqoh Infaq and should not be given to the rich class , except for the five groups ... one of them mentioned the Holy Prophet is Mujahidin fi Sabilillah . (Reported by Abu Dawud ) .
So if zakat should be given to the Mujahideen while he was a rich and capable , what with today's conditions , when Mujahideen us today are the ones who collect at least four asnaf charity at the same time : they are a people who Faqir ( desperately need ) , they are people are poor , they are ibn sabil ( because they are Muhajiroun , who emigrated to leave his hometown and his country ) , and they are Sabilillah Fi !
So , bayarkanlah zakatmu the Mujahideen and invite as many people to do the same .
